TC 02B IS CURRENTLY IN A MARGINALLY FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT WITH MODERATE  VERTICAL WIND SHEAR (15-25 KTS) OFFSET BY ROBUST EQUATORWARD OUTFLOW  ALOFT AND WARM (30-31C) SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES. THE SYSTEM WILL  REMAIN IN A MARGINAL ENVIRONMENT FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS AS IT TRACKS  NORTH-NORTHWESTWARD AROUND A SUBTROPICAL RIDGE TO THE NORTHEAST.  AFTER 24H, THE VERTICAL WIND SHEAR IS FORECAST TO DECREASE,  ALLOWING TC 02B TO REACH A PEAK INTENSITY OF 80 KNOTS/US CAT 1 AT 48H JUST  BEFORE MAKING LANDFALL SOUTHWEST OF KOLKATA. AFTER LANDFALL, THE  SYSTEM WILL RAPIDLY WEAKEN WITH DISSIPATION BY 96H.
